Denice Franke - Gulf Coast Blue
- This album isn't exactly acoustic rock, but it certainly has a large share of acoustic guitar strumming throughout it. The album is, of course, Denice Franke's "Gulf Coast Blue."
There is nothing that especially stands out about this album, other than perhaps the beginning of "Cool Water," to make it more worthwhile to listen to than any other acoustic rock/adult contemporary/folksy music coming out now too.
Franke is a soulful singer with a rich, smoky voice, somewhat reminiscent of Natalie Merchant and Joan Baez. Franke strums along to her guitar as she seems to sing and talk about her favorite life memories.
Franke has a nice voice, but just doesn't really use it to great effect in this album.
