Seeing Things
Seeing Things, by Jakob Dylan, is what I expected it to be: simple and soothing. The sound on this album is nothing like his old band's big single, "One Headlight"; instead these tracks are more of a cross between folk and singer/songwriter. The lyrics have a pretty poetic quality and the melodies are beautiful in their simplicity. However, with all of that said, there are some tracks in which the simplicity does not work as well and the songs become a little dull as they progress.
There is not much to say about this 10-track CD that couldn't be found out when you listen to it. Yes, I would listen to this; it is very calming and sometimes that is what you need. Would everyone like this album? Definitely not. Either way, I think listening to a few tracks every now and then is a good idea.
