Bart Millard - Hymned Again
- Bart Millard’s Hymned Again is exactly what you think it is: a Christian album; however, the music is not necessarily the typical gospel or Christian music. The melodies of these songs are more of a mix of country, bluegrass, and even a little folk. Some of the harmonies on the slow songs would be romantic if the lyrics were not about Jesus. Many, if not all, of the lyrics are of the “feel good” type with the infusion of the worship of the messiah of the Christians. While some of the songs are pleasant to listen to, the lyrics can get redundant because the subject is handled in a way that has been done numerous times before. Millard is unique in the actual music for the genre, which is okay, but the lyrics are wholly unoriginal.
