Star and Season
Karen Johns and Company put together a very pretty jazz album with Star and Season.
Johns' vocals are absolutely beautiful and it is hard not to like her voice, as it is very soothing and sensual. Some tracks are covers and are done well; other tracks are romantic and sensual. These songs would be great to listen to for a slow dance and that is why I like them.
The album is very straightforward in the lyrics and melodies. There are surprises, too, such as a lovely flute solo in the fourth track. The sounds on this album are classy and kind of old-fashioned.
There is not much that brings these songs into the 21st century, which is something I would have liked to have heard more.
