Silly Short Songs For Silly Short People

With the self titled Silly Short Songs for Silly Short People, I thought it was an odd name for Rock Daddy Rock, but after giving it a listen, I found that it makes sense. Quite simply, they are all short songs. Eighteen tracks, all about one minute a piece. This is very interesting I must say, since I haven't seen something like this . . . ever.

This type of music would fall into the comedy rock zone. They're short and sweet as they give you a little taste before they take it away. So if you get hung up on one of the songs, it's over before you know it. It's like teasing a baby by dangling candy in front and then yanking it away. But if you're going to make comedic songs, I would think that is the point; to keep it short so the humor is fresh and doesn't get stale as the song drags on for another few minutes.

An album entitled Silly Short Songs for Silly Short People is quite humorous, I thought, as the tracks seem to follow the title's lead and stick to the theme. The lyrics are a little quirky and work within the confines of standard rock, as the melody seems to resemble that of the band, Real Big Fish.

At first, I thought the vocals seemed to fluctuate, as there were much more than multiple singers ranging from the Gorillaz to other names extending to Real Big Fish. But after a while, it seemed to settle down into a groove. I thought Rock Daddy Rock was dichotomous of good music and humor, welding these ingredients into a solid product.
