Resurrection

Brian Vander Ark is going solo. Ark's album, Resurrection, is a pleasant and mostly mellow CD, good to listen to while just relaxing. Vander Ark is maybe best known for his old involvement with Verve Pipe (which actually just released a CD in 2008), but he has earned renown in his own right. Resurrection evokes the familiar tunes of such popular singer/songwriters as Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and others who have brought the genre way back alive.

"Written and Erased" is one of the highlights of this album. The tune, "1229 Sheffield," is reminiscent of Edwin McCain's soulful tunes, such as the 1990s favorite, "I'll Be."
