Deadly Sins - Selling Our Weaknesses
- Deadly Sins’s Selling Our Weaknesses seems to possess a catchy punk rock sound that may be from Lucifer himself as it is laced with an injection of subtle metallic influence and music’s favorite pastime topics of discussion. The sounds emitted are high energy and really get you pumped up and rocking. They take a page out of Avril Lavigne’s playbook as they place a female on lead vocals and have strong, hard rockers in the backdrop pounding. It seems to work as it provides for a unique and very enticing sound.
The music isn’t overbearing or as blatant as heavy metal or even some facets of punk rock can be. It’s soft, hard, fast-paced rock, if that makes sense. Every song contains its own identity as the tempo slows and fastens as it takes us on a thrill ride. For an indie band, they got a good thing going with positive flowing energy amongst the members and a good controlled sound that isn’t afraid to kick out.
The twelve track composite bares all as its lyrics discuss the typical songwriting favorite stories of life, love, betrayal and, of course, death. Well what else is there to sing about? Anything else would just be silly and drain the passion and heart out of the band. Topics like these can be downers, but Deadly Sins doesn’t seem to stir up any emotions of self wallowing despair. It’s tasteful and bumping as it will sure to be a real crowd pleaser. Deadly Sins proves it’s a talented group as Selling Our Weaknesses is a good springboard.
