Iridesense - A Trip Called Life
- Iridesense possesses similarities to Paramore, No Doubt, Fleetwood Mac, Dashboard Confessional, and much more. I think that Iridesense’s release of A Trip Called Life fuses an arcade of sounds from No Doubt and Fleetwood Mac. Iridesense remains cool as it performs in complete control and doesn’t lash out with heightened points of erratic tendencies.
Iridesense demonstrates its talent with a buffet of sounds that satisfies our hunger. Primarily rock and pop with a hint of ‘90s swirled in, they touch on folk, punk and new wave music to form harmonic intricacies that work very well. The lyrics are thoughtful and inspiring as hope gleams in the distance with its uplifting tempo and tone. Their music is steady and free flowing like water calmly moving downstream.
There’s a strong sense of variety present throughout the tracks. Each track has minute alterations that maintain their unique sound, but give it distinction. Iridesense maintains a good balance between its lyrics, energy, and harmonic weaving of all the different sounds it intrepidly explores, to make for an almost existential experience that proves to be a real treat. It’s almost invigorating as what is captured is a rare gem.
Iridesense relentlessly inspires true originality. They have a good thing going as their music breaks through the generic mold that most bands tend to fixate on. Iridesense goes the distance, aiming high and accomplishing a truly aural experience that is more than just pleasing to the ears. A cushion of melody relaxes us as it seeps out of the drums and guitar riffs that crunch passionately.
