Book of Lies - Unknown
- The two disc album set from Book of Lies is a compilation of past great wonders which are matched acceptably by a nostalgic retelling. These renditions are pretty much exact replicas and just make you reminisce, saying, “Oh yeah, I remember this one.” Some tracks are vocalized hit singles and others fall in the forgotten realm of classical. I’m not sure why the carbon copies are necessary, usually covers put a different spin on it. However, due to the very limited information on Book of Lies (actually none to be found), I’m not even sure if these are supposed to be covers or if it’s merely just a mix tape.
I mean, it’s a good listen, there’s no denying that with a strong influence of classical pieces that are really soft and easy on the ears. There’s just a lack of information to be found in order to fully assess this two volume set. That being said, I don’t understand the reason for putting a few lyrical tracks in the beginning, then battering it home with classical movements. I can’t grasp the concept or methodology behind it. If there were more information available, a better assessment could be done.
Despite the incognito position take here, Book of Lies proved to be a great listen with a dominant track compilation of longwinded, crescendo, classical pieces that are truly epic. They’re mood setters and can whisk you away to different places, especially times. This is the way music is supposed to be; there is a pristine power that is no doubt embedded as these tracks work together to reign triumphant on a successful campaign.
