Orba Squara - Sunshyness
- Orba Squara, whose claim to fame right now might be the innovative Apple iPhone commercial theme, releases their album, Sunshyness, that is an optimistic and upbeat outlook from the realm of bleakness. This is an excellent debut album, especially if one of their tracks has already received national use in a big time campaign. The lyrics are written with diligence as it reflects a compassionate nature of the talented group. Orba Squara takes it slow but in their debut they’ve accomplished a series of catchy tracks that are universally appealing.
There’s quite a lot of pep in the step of this group in their songs, which is rare in slow progressing songs that can be coated in melancholy. Sunshyness is surprisingly upbeat and gleams rays of positivity that is quite encouraging. It’s easy to embrace this talented bunch. Orba Squara manages to sing and have a delivery that is quite intimate and really engages the listener, similar of Simon & Garfunkel. Certainly with their landing of the iPhone campaign theme with the track, “Perfect Timing,” they possess a captivating and unique sound that definitely lends itself to a wider audience.
It’s hard not to wear a smile throughout these tender ballads as an endless amount of instruments went into the engineering. Even the seemingly sadder tones can’t shake you as they still maintain a happy and uplifting mood. There’s an undeniable timeless creation that speaks wonders and makes Orba Squara a marvel to listen to. What really speaks wonders and dazzles my mind about them – I’ll say it again – is just the hopefulness laced into every track, even the one that sound downbeat. It’s truly remarkable.
