Heidi Siegell - Us Lonely People
- Heidi Siegell, on her album, Us Lonely People, invites us with open arms for a euphonious listen with her renowned “sweet, yet soulfully powerful” voice that pours into our lives like a celestial ray of light. Her lyrics contribute to this notion as they’re a quite literal translation to bring us in. Heidi incorporates an evangelical method and a glimmer of hope that looms through much despair in her work. The title of Us Lonely People seems to translate into the mood committed throughout the album with slow paced ballads that really hover in darkness as her beautiful voice brings us closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.
Us Lonely People continues the hybridization and blurring the line between folk and jazz as it finds a common middle ground that is beautiful with a staunch injection of passion that furrows within our heart. The controlled tempo transfers pressure on Heidi to take us home and she certainly does with a booming voice that has tremendous range. Some backup singers add a more packed punch to take Heidi’s inspirational lyrics to the next level as it lifts us from the depths of despair and put us on the winged back of hope and soar to new unimaginable optimistic horizons.
The tracks are a brilliant blend of songs with chilling echoes that will haunt us long after we conclude listening. The assortment of chimes, bells, as well as many more, make for a genius place setting that plays in the distance and brings us closer with a hook. It’s impossible to not embrace this channeling of powerfully passionate music that is truly epic and has a side winding story that unravels in our mind.
