Billy Currington - Little Bit of Everything
- Billy Currington tenderizes our soul with his new released album, Little Bit of Everything. The mid tempo songs provide an easy going feel that really puts you at ease. Currington’s delivery is really stellar as his vocals have a booming passion that can floor you. There’s not too much being done as the tracks don’t seem too cluttered or overdone. Currington gets the recipe right as the distributions are just right and he practically talks to us in an unpretentious manner at certain times to switch it up from singing all the time.
Not all the songs are love inspired or the typical country topics of discussion, which is refreshing to hear. The tunes are uplifting rather than wallowing in their own sorrows morosely. The tracks are composed of a solid blend of country and rock, allowing him to receive the much deserved recognition. The great thing that won’t turn disbelievers away is that the country chords of influence aren’t the most prominent feature of the sound. It’s merely a blend that really isn’t a set of your typical full hearted country songs. The uplifting tones really can release you from chokehold of frivolous depression and make you stomp you foot to the beat.
Little Bit of Everything is as every bit as good as it should be, building on Currington’s previous works to bring us a wonder of melodies that stream through us beautifully. Currington’s Midwestern voice is very enticing and palpable as the songs morph into little dancing helpers that strut over and cradle us.
