Fall Out Boy - Folie A Deux
- Cliche or not, Fall Out Boy's newest album is my pick for album of the year. "Folie A Deux" does what few other albums can: entertain the entire way through.

The popular rock band, headlined by 29-year-old new father Pete Wentz, was significantly quieter in the marketing of "Folie A Deux," which is rather confusing, since this album is definitely the band's best effort in years, if not their best album, period. Fall Out Boy is a band known for being prolific and making many hits, still etched in the popular psyche. "From Under the Cork Tree" produced a number of memorable and very catchy songs, including "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" and "I've Got A Dark Alley And a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth." With the more recent "Infinity on High" came hits "Thanks for the Memories," "This Ain't A Scene It's an Arms Race" and "Don't You Know Who I Think I Am?"

The best surprise is that the band delivers, yet again, on their newest effort. The best songs on "Folie A Deux" are "I Don't Care," "America's Suitehearts" and "The (Shipped) Gold Standard." None of the songs on this album are bad... a few, such as "Coffee's for Closers," "Tiffany Blews," "Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes" and "What A Catch, Donnie," are really good, but might need to be listened to twice or thrice, before they really start to grow on you.

Like their previous album, and Panic At The Disco's last album, this is an album you can enjoy in its entirety. As usual, the songs are titled with biting wit or jocular humor ("She's My Winona," "Suitehearts").

It's Fall Out Boy. Whatever you admit in front of your friends, it's hard not to enjoy their music. Catch this album - it may not be getting the good press it deserves, but it truly deserves the best attention.
