Justin White and Marguerite Krull - Phantom of the Opera & other Broadway Hits
- In today’s economy, you don’t have to buy tickets for a Broadway show when you can get the full experience listening to this collection of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical hits.
"Phantom of the Opera & other Broadway Hits" includes memorable Broadway songs such as "Memory" from "Cats," “Music of the Night” from "Phantom of the Opera," and of course, “Phantom of the Opera.” Other songs are from the productions "Sunset Boulevard," "Aspects of Love," and "Song and Dance." All songs were composed by the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Beautifully expressing these songs are Justin White and Marguerite Krull. As exquisite opera singers, White’s baritone vocals harmonize with Krull’s mezzo-soprano range. Krull’s voice is especially impressive in “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” from "Phantom of the Opera." This song begins at a low pitch, then shifts suddenly into much higher notes.
Besides “Memory,” the track I find very moving is from the play "Sunset Boulevard," titled “With One Look.” Again, Krull’s voice does a tremendous job expressing emotion. In this particular song, Krull brings alive the character’s determination to make a comeback to the big screen.
In “Phantom of the Opera,” White and Krull collaborate as the timeless Phantom and Christine. In this track, you can hear the talent of the Orlando Pops Orchestra. Dramatic drums, tense violins, and fierce horns create the drama and romance that is "The Phantom of the Opera."
In all honesty, I feel like I’m sitting in The New Amsterdam Theatre when listening to "Phantom of the Opera & other Broadway Hits." With the Broadway industry hurting in this economy, immerse yourself in some of the most memorable theatre productions with this wonderful collection.
