The first impression created upon hearing Oh No Not Stereo's new disc, 003, is one of exuberance, as if it is inherently obvious that the band enjoyed making the album as much as the listener will enjoy hearing it.

There are a number of noteworthy tracks on this recording, including "Hurricanes," which showcases some great guitar work, and "This Friday Night," an upbeat number that sounds like a love child of Jimmy Eat World and the All-American Rejects. But the one that packs perhaps the most punch is a track called "12 Years Later," a stark and truly moving song that builds upon itself, as the lyrics so beautifully suggest, "in a most unexpected way."

This is a very accessible, thoroughly entertaining album that takes the listener through a range of emotional experiences. Those who give it a chance will no doubt be very glad they did.
