Comedian John Caparulo got his big break in 2003 when he was offered a sitcom deal at a comedy festival he performed at in Canada. From there, he appeared on "The Tonight Show," "the Blue Collar Comedy Tour," and his uncut special on Comedy Central aired Feb. 14. His first CD, "Meet Cap," was released on Feb. 12. On the disc, he rants about things like bad drivers, airport security, fast food and pornography. There's no doubt that Cap is a funny guy. I especially enjoyed the fourth track, "People Who Read." He talks about smart people and books versus movies, saying about "Jaws," "The movie had a mechanical shark and the book has/ pages."
Although funny, there aren't too many "laugh out loud" moments during the CD. Also, there really isn't anything that makes him stand out from the many other Comedy Central guys. He's just another comedian who likes to rant about everyday things and curse a lot while doing it.
If a live performance keeps your interest better than a CD, the DVD of "Meet Cap" comes out April 14.
