Blue Sky 5+2 - Five Minutes More
- For fans of old-time traditional swing music, Blue Sky 5+2's "Five Minutes More" is a wonderful CD to add to a collection. Filled with bouncy beats and vocals that return you to a simpler place in time, this album will have you toe-tapping around the living room in no time.
"I Can't Give You Anything But Love" channels the showmanship of greats such as Louie Armstrong while "Me, Myself and I" is perfectly cheeky, with vocals that sound similar to some of the great movie music of the 1930s and '40s, a la Ginger Rogers or Judy Garland.
One thing is clear. They sure don't make them like this anymore but they should. Blue Sky 5+2 offers up a swingin' good time on this CD, and those who don't check it out will miss the chance to bring a little bit of the past back to the future.
