And I Remain - Three Love Stories
Linda Tsatsanis is an accomplished singer, having sung for the Boston Music Festival, Seattle Choral Company, the Elmer Iseler Singers and more during her career. John Lenti is a lute player who has performed throughout the eastern United States and studied with two of the greatest lutenists in Europe.
Put these talented individuals together and you get And I Remain ? Three Love Stories. Although the majority of the 18 songs are in either French or Italian, an understanding of the lyrics is not necessary to enjoy the music.
The tracks are like paintings in song form, with Tsatsanis's lovely soprano flowing over Lenti's beautiful lute. Most people would never think to put a lute into classical music, but it works incredibly well. Perhaps Tsatsanis's voice was just made for it. If you close your eyes while listening, you are instantly transported to a beautiful countryside meadow, meeting the love of your life and frolicking through the flowers.
The image is clich? and silly, but the music is anything but. Check out this disc and take the trip yourself.
