Erasure - Pop! The First 20 Hits
- I have never really considered myself a fan of Erasure's particular brand of techno-laced dance pop, but to my surprise, I listened to this greatest hits collection and knew almost every song.

Tracks like "Oh L’Amour," "A Little Respect" and "Chains of Love" were staples of the radio airwaves in the late '80s and early '90s, but there is much more here that stands the test of time.

There is a signature beat that just transports you to the dance floor of a club – so upbeat and fun, you want to move. Erasure is one of those bands whose music gets easily stuck in your head without you even realizing it, and there is a good reason for that. These are fundamentally appealing, catchy pop songs.

Songs like "Stars" and "Sometimes" are uplifting and optimistic, chicken soup for the soulful - at the same time, songs like "Drama!," "Blue Savannah" and "You Surround Me" are just forgettable. But that is to be somewhat expected from such a prolific band.

One of the most memorable moments comes at the end of the collection, with a cover of ABBA’s "Take a Chance on Me" set to a techno pop beat – it is a perfect fit for Erasure's trademark sound, and is a definite crowd-pleaser. Take a chance on this collection, and you will not regret it.
