The best singers are those who do not force their voice to do tricks and runs to desperately keep your attention. Instead, they sing with effortlessness and grace that not only keeps your attention but causes the mind to go into meditation. The best example of great singing is on the album, "Come Away with Me," by Norah Jones. Her breathy vocals are capable of lifting flower petals in the sky and making them dance to the melodious sounds.

I probably don't stand alone when I say that this is one of the best debut albums I've heard by any musical artist in a long time. Jones has eternal harmonies that will perforate the veins and produce a warm, cozy sensation throughout the body. With jazz influences, the album is filled with blue and swung notes along with musical improvisation. Additionally, the songs "Feelin' the Same Way" and "Lonestar" carry a hint of country music with a remarkable vocal range. All you can do is sit back and relax and listen to the complete package.

At the 2003 Grammy Awards, the album won five awards, including Song of the Year for "Don't Know Why." The song contains everything that is to love about Jones, with vocals that calm the senses and piano playing that enchants the soul.

"Come Away with Me" will induce those "oohs" and "ahs." The album will appeal to a wide scope of different age groups. It is one of those albums you and your parents can both enjoy.
