The Rolling Stones - Get Yer Ya Ya's Out!
- The Rolling Stones are still, after 47 years, the most popular rock and roll band in the world. Their Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out! live album was recorded in November of 1969 at Madison Square Garden, and has every Rolling Stones song you want to hear at their concert.
Critics argue that this album could possibly be the best live album ever produced by the band. "Jumpin Jack Flash" and "Midnight Rambler" are perfect examples of this. This record is the Rolling Stones, in concert, at their best. "Carol" is by far one of the best songs on the album.
The first show at the Garden was special. Tina Turner opened for the band doing a duet with Janis Joplin while Jimi Hendrix hung out backstage with the band. The Rolling Stones have mastered blues rock and roll (if that is possible) with their indomitable stage presence, attitude, and audio masterpieces. "Live With Me" is a stomping boogie-woogie number while "Sympathy for the Devil" leaves its mark as a classic concert staple.
The group formed in 1962 and according to Mick Jagger, they thought they’d be broken up within a year. The Stones have withstood the ups and downs of their time and produced classic material during their reign.
If you like the Rolling Stones this album is addictive. You’ll listen to it once, forget about it, then come back again. And if you play guitar you’ll be hooked for sure. The rock and roll riffs by Keith Richards on Chuck Berry's "Carol" are undeniable. The Stones reach down into the juicy roots of the blues and formulate it into their own butt-shaking rock and roll.
