Chris Loid - Back Road Home
- Chris Loid’s new album, titled “Back Road Home,” is well composed and written like a country album should be. Loid sings about the journeys of life and the quest for love that complements the title, “Back Road Home.”
“Loving You Forever” has a soulful sound when Loid sings, “Because I’m loving you endlessly/Loving you is easy/’Cause I’m loving you forever/Loving you hopelessly . . ./ Loving you loving me/’Cause I’m loving you forever.” This heartfelt song is about a man that proudly loves his lady and everything about her. Anyone that listens to this song can definitely relate to it.
Despite the title, “Light This Mother Up,” this track is a fun country song that is similar to Kid Rock’s song, “All Summer Long.” In the song, Loid sings about the good times hanging with his friends drinking beer who are “living while they’re young/ because they don’t want to grow old.”
Chris Loid’s “Back Road Home” is different from my favorite genre of music, R&B, however I like it. If you can sing about killing your wife’s boyfriend and leaving him by the side of the road (from the song, “Back Road Home”) and make it sound appealing and not threatening, then I think you’ve done your job as an artist.
