Blind For Love

Ana Popovic's forthcoming album, "Blind for Love," is a collection of songs that offers some jazz, a hint of gossip, a little funk and a lot of blues. Ana Popovic did a splendid job with this set of twelve tracks.

The first song off the album, "Nothing Personal," is full of instruments that give the song good quality. There are trumpets playing in the background with sounds of a harp and a heavy saxophone. This track sounds like a gospel song until you hear the lyrics, "I might look familiar/ You wonder if we ever met before/ Now that I found you/ I don't wanna miss you no more." That is definitely not a song of praise, but needless to say, "Nothing Personal" is one of the best tracks off the CD.

Another song that is full of blues and funk is "Steal Me Away" which is about short term love that comes in and steals your heart away and leaves. Ana Popovic's vocals are soft and she sings from the heart making you feel the story she is telling. Her next song, "Need Your Love," isn't that impressive. Her vocals are a little raspy to imitate a rock sound that doesn't work for her. She sings, "Said I need you/ I need your love, love, love, love, love," which doesn't sound appealing to the ears. Her album is solid but would be better off if "Need Your Love" wasn't on it.

Overall, "Blind for Love" is great to listen to while driving to work, on your way to school or if you are just laying in bed. This CD has amazing instruments, fun lyrics and great songs.
