The wonderful music of jazz puts everyone at ease. A sweet voice of a singer and the amazing instruments like a saxophone or a trumpet make jazz worthwhile and Ayelet Rose Gottlieb's new album, "Upto Here ~~ From Here," is exactly that.
The smooth sound of "Most Alive Moment" makes it a song to which you can sit near a fireplace, drink some wine and listen to the beautiful lyrics. It is edgy with, of course, a jazz sound, but the lyrics are the best part. Ayelet Rose Gottlieb sings, "To see your face in a crowd of others/ Or alone on a frighten street/ I weep for that," with great emotion. I love this song, especially the two minutes of trumpet playing.
"Hidden Fruit" is a more eccentric song with giggles throughout the track that make you feel like a kid again. The bass and the drums blend in with the giggles which make the song actually sound okay. It is animated in the way she sings, "Is this love/ Is this love"; that is different from anything I've ever heard before.
"Upto Here ~~ From Here" is a collection full of jazz and witty lyrics that I think everyone should take a listen to. If you are looking for a different sound, Ayelet Rose Gottlieb is your best bet.
