Candye Kane - Superhero
- Candye Kane has a sweet name, but this woman is tough and sings the blues with great passion.

“Superhero” starts off on a good note because of her strong vocals. When she sings, “I…always been a fighter” she catches your attention as she holds that solid note for about 10 seconds. The track “Superhero” has a catchy tune and easy lyrics to learn making it the best song off the album.

After tracks like “Superhero,” “Hey! Toughen! Up!” and “I’m a Bad, Bad Girl,” the album goes downhill. Her vocals go from a soulful blues sound to almost shouting. Some of the songs begin to sound the same and there isn’t anything unique about hearing three songs in a row that are similar in vocals, music and lyrics.

Candye Kane redeems herself with “I’m Gonna Be Just Fine.” It is a simple song about growing old and still being that “White hair lady with a whole lot of soul.”

“Superhero” is an album that has to grow on you. Some of the songs are witty and fun to listen to, but the entire album is something you will probably listen to once.
