Battlefield

Jordin Sparks has made a huge improvement on her sophomore album "Battlefield." Although the album is almost all pop, the songs aren't as forgettable as the tracks from her debut piece.

Working with heavy-hitting producers like T-Pain and Harvey Mason Jr., "Battlefield" shows Sparks' maturity, not only as an artist, but as a young woman. Sparks co-wrote a few numbers on the release. Her first single is also the title track, and the beat really is what gets one into the song. Starting off with heavy drums and going into some rock gives listeners a piece of her eclectic taste in music, and may even open up this generation to different types of music.

With the pop influence of the album, it is not a bad product, but it is definitely not for all ages. Language and content is fine. She talks about the things that young women are going to go through regarding love, but it is not something a Mary J. Blige or Keyshia Cole fan would listen to daily.

Songs like "It Takes More" and "Don't Let It Go To Your Head" are good songs that women of all ages can listen and relate to.
