Topless at the Arco Arena
Wonderlick's "Topless at the Arco Arena" is a journey without an ending. This duo is unapologetic for their eccentric style, music, and some explicit lyrics. These guys definitely know how to attract people to their music and also keep them interested.
"When She Took Off Her Shirt" has an edgy and hip-hop beat. One of the guys from the duo used an auto-tune to lighten up this gloomy pop track. The title of the song is out there and I won't be surprised if this song ends up in a strip club from the lyrics, "The spotlight found her/ and you can tell that she likes to dance/ she's no one special/ that's why it's special."
The beat to "Everybody Loves Jenny" is similar to Blink 182's "All the Small Things." The song talks about everyone from the anchorman to Duran Duran liking this girl named Jenny and ironically Jenny doesn't even like herself. This track is very funny with catchy lyrics.
"You First" is a love song with droopy lyrics that make you laugh. While the song was playing, I kept asking myself, "Are these guys really serious." The lyrics, "I gave my wife the finger/ the first day that we met/ I might not be Romeo/ but she is my F***king Juilet," interests the listeners and they will probably have this song stuck in their heads for an entire month! Wonderlick are creative artists who are professionals on "thinking outside the box." The sound of keys jingling in the opening puts the icing on the extraordinary cake.
"Topless at the Arco Arena" is a joyride with a couple of bumps, but overall a pretty smooth ride. Wonderlick's catchy tunes, funny stories, and odd style are unlike any artist in the Electonica music industry. Caution: once you listen to this album, you won't get enough of it.
