The album Life Starts Now by Three Days Grace is not the start of their music career. This is their third released album. Still have guitarist, lead vocalist and songwriter, Adam Gontier; drummer and back vocalist Neil Sanderson; bassist Brad Walst; and lead guitarist, Barry Stock. It has been three years since the release of their second album One X.
The album starts out with the songs "Bitter Taste" and "Break." The songs are reminiscent of some of there pervious songs with great guitar and smooth style of beat. "Someone Who Cares" is a soft anthem with good lyrics. "The Good Life" is a fun song but it has the sound of something heard before.
"World So Cold" is another easy Three Days Grace sound with good lyrics and great bridge. "No More" is different from some of the bands early work but still a radio ready song. "Last To Know" to slow, sad ballet and sounds pretty formula. "Lost In You" and "Without You" are clich? and ordinary in rhythm and lyrics. They are radio/TV sound track sound. Light comprehended "Animal Inside" or I Hate Everything About You" "Bully" starts out hard and Makes a statement with the lyrics. The sound is good but maybe to simple. This song like "Going Down" stays in the same rhythm and sound. Sometimes makes me think of Nickelback.
The fans from Three Days Grace's early on will notice Life Starts Now is a departure from their pervious albums. It sounds toned downed but that doesn't mean fans should kick them to the waste side. I found that I had to give it a second play to get over the fact this is not the same old Three Days Grace. There are more intricate guitar riffs and melodies. The lyrics are typical Adam Gontier, which makes the songwriting good in my book. Truthfully some of his lyrics have always been clich? but it is the feeling he sings into them and the melodies that made it good.
This album is not on the metal side of heavy by the regular side of rock.
