On August 19th, rapidly rising Jazz pianist Aaron Parks will
make his Blue Note Records debut with Invisible Cinema; a stunning concept
record conceived entirely by the 24-year-old Parks. With his technically
involved, melodic and sensitive playing, Parks is setting a new standard for
Jazz piano expression.
Invisible Cinema is an acoustic jazz record, yet evokes sonic and rhythmic
frontiers through the use of subtly added keyboards, meticulously varied guitar
sounds and unorthodox beats. Parks cites a wide range of influence on his
music and draws inspiration from innovative artists such as Radiohead and
Björk, while still maintaining an authentic Jazz sound in a contemporary
setting.
