Quentin Tarantino confirms he's directing 'The Hateful Eight'

It may not have been a shock, but when Quentin Tarantino came to promote his upcoming comic book, Django Meets Zorro, at Comic-Con, he gave some news that is sure to make his fans feel satisfied -The Hateful Eight is his next movie.

As Collider reported, when a fan asked him point blank at the panel if he'll be making The Hateful Eight as his next feature, Tarantino was hesitant at first. He apparently swiam around the question for a little bit, but eventually had the following to state: "Yeah, we're going to be doing The Hateful Eight."

Set to be Tarantino's return to the Western genre after his last film, the Oscar-winning Django Unchained, The Hateful Eight was in the midst of being written and prepared as Tarantino's project, until an early draft of the script got leaked onto the Internet. Furious, Tarantino said that he would not be making the movie anymore, and was in the midst of suing Gawker, before dropping the case a couple months ago.

Following a script reading with several actors seen in Tarantino's past films, word came out that The Hateful Eight was gearing up for a November shoot back in May. But word on the film has been rather quiet since then, other than the fact that the writer/director has been reportedly reworking the script for the past couple months.

More news should be coming out in the next couple months, but this is all the more encouraging for fans to hear. Especially those that did get their hands on the script and would have killed to have seen it in its full filmed glory.
