The Lovetones -
Now releasing their second album on Tee Pee Records, THE LOVETONES draw comparisons to late-era Beatles, The Zombies, Elliot Smith and label-mates Brian Jonestown Massacre with Meditations (and the single "Mantra").
Led by Australian retro-rocker Matthew J. Tow (formerly of Drop City), THE LOVETONES encompass the very best of psychedelic rock from yesteryear with resemblance to likely peers in Bowie, Lennon & McCartney and Ray Davies (as quoted by Rolling Stone Magazine). THE LOVETONES got their first taste of distinction after hooking up with like-minded artist Anton Newcombe of Brian Jonestown Massacre and contributing several songs to BJM albums including the critically acclaimed cut “Starcleaner”. THE LOVETONES were also selected to be part of hailed James Joyce Chamber Music project, alongside top acts such as Sonic Youth, Mercury Rev and REM’s Peter Buck.
