In an effort to win the TV Guide Choose the Cover Campaign for the Dec. 13 issue, NBC’s Chuck has teamed up with social media platform Philo to squander the competition, consisting of Bones, Castle, How I Met Your Mother, Smallville, and Supernatural.
If any show’s fans can make something happen for the adventure spy comedy, it’s the loyal base that has followed Chuck through thick and thin, and continuously launched initiatives to keep the show on the air. The December 2009 game, Mission: Chuck Me Out, rewarded fans who spread the word to watch the show. The #savechuck hashtag campaign also reportedly saved the show from cancellation.
In a poll early this year, E! Online asked its readers to vote for its favorite television couple of all time. Chuck and gal pal Sarah even beat out iconic duos like Ross and Rachel from Friends.
Tonight, fans can live tweet using the Philo platform during the new episode at 8 p.m. EST and again at 8 p.m. PST, winning special Chuck badges and entering to be awarded with prizes, including DVDs — perfect for the tweeting Chuck watcher.
By logging into Philo and commenting during the installment, entitled “Chuck Versus the Aisle of Terror,” users can also send the tidbits to their Facebook and Twitter accounts, also pushing for fellow fans to vote in the TV Guide contest for the December cover.
Join the viewing party tonight for Chuck’s new Halloween-centric, in which Chuck (Zachary Levi), Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski), Casey (Adam Baldwin), and Morgan (Joshua Gomez) have to stop a scientist from releasing a nightmare-inducing toxin.
