‘Hawaii Five-O’ Update
If you missed the original Hawaii Five-O television series, don’t worry; you can catch the updated version that’s now in the works.
The show, just as its name suggests, takes place in Hawaii. It will focus on an elite squad of the Hawaii State Police and the unique relationship that they have with the Governor.
Many big name stars have already signed on for the series-- such as Alex O’Loughlin who will play Detective Steve McGarrett, the main character of the show. O’Loughlin was previously in the television series Moonlight and Three Rivers and will be seen in the upcoming movie The Back-up Plan with Jennifer Lopez.
Daniel Dae Kim of Lost will also star in the show, as well as Scott Caan and Taryn Manning. Television veteran Jean Smart will play the governor of Hawaii, a role that was originally male but was changed for this show because of changing roles of women. Smart’s strong portrayals in the past made her an ideal choice for the role.
Similarly, the show has gained talent in the writing department in Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci who wrote the recent Star Trek script.
The show is planned for the CBS fall lineup.
