Former teen idol David Cassidy, who is best known for his role in the 1970s musical sitcom, The Partridge Family, was arrested in St. Lucie County, Florida on Wednesday night and charged with driving under the influence.
Entertainment Tonight Online reports that Cassidy, who currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, was pulled over by Florida Highway Patrol when an officer noticed his white Mercedes traveling off a roadway.
After stopping and questioning the singer-songwriter, the officer at the scene determined he was impaired and arrested him for DUI. The police report reveals that Cassidy blew a 0.139 and 0.141 while taking breathalyzer tests, which exceeds the state’s 0.08 legal limit.
The state trooper also spotted a half-empty bottle of Labrot Graham Woodford Reserve Kentucky Bourbon in the back seat of his Mercedes.
According to The New Jersey Star-Ledger, Cassidy admitted to the officer that he had downed a glass of wine at lunch before taking a hydrocodone painkiller a few hours after consuming alcohol.
Sources have notified TMZ that Cassidy was taken to a nearby jail, booked for DUI, and released Thursday morning at 3:22 a.m. ET on $350 bond.
