“Hope For Haiti Now” Donates More than $57 Million

“Hope For Haiti Now” raised more than $57 million to donate to Haiti relief efforts.

“Hope For Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief,” the telethon put on by George Clooney, Wyclef Jean, Anderson Cooper, and over 100 other celebrities, raised over $57 million to donate to different charities for Haiti relief funds.

The Hope for Haiti Now album that became available on iTunes shortly after the telethon has turned into the biggest one-day album pre-order in iTunes history.

“Hope For Haiti Now” was a two-hour event that featured performances by Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, and many more. The night also included more than 100 A-list celebrities answering phones and taking donations.

The money that was raised by the telethon will be given to the charities Oxfam America, Partners in Health, The Red Cross, UNICEF, United Nations World Food Programme, Yele Haiti Foundation, and the Clinton-Bush Haiti Foundation.
