'16 and Pregnant' recap: Jennifer

What started out as two teenagers preparing to welcome twins, madly in love and engaged to be married, ended with screams, an alleged kidnapping and assault and an eventual arrest in Tuesday night’s episode of 16 and Pregnant.

The latest episode of the controversial hit introduces 16-year-old Tampa native Jennifer who is pregnant with paternal twin boys.

Her boyfriend, Josh, who refused to buy condoms because it’s “awkward,” seems semi-supportive of his pregnant girlfriend but continuously butts heads with her parents over his disrespectful ways.

Jennifer’s parents urge their daughter to use caution when planning her future with Josh and their soon-to-be born babies, even suggesting the boys take her last name instead of their dad’s, an issue that Josh doesn’t take lightly.

Later, on her first day of her sophomore year in high school, several students question Jennifer about her pregnancy and boyfriend and soon the topic of marriage is on Jennifer’s mind. Shortly after, on the couple’s one year anniversary, Josh proposes to Jennifer and she happily accepts.

Unfortunately, her parents don’t take the news well and even refuse to congratulate the couple.

Doctors decide to induce Jennifer when she’s 37 weeks pregnant and shortly after the teen enters surgery for a C-section, her babies, Noah and Josh Jr., are welcomed into the world.

The happiness is short lived when Josh and Jennifer’s mother get into another argument and Jennifer finally breaks down. The next day, the family of four heads to Jennifer’s home where they are greeted by her extended relatives, another problem for Josh who finds it disrespectful.

It’s not long before the new dad bounces from Jennifer’s home and refuses to come over unless her parents are gone.

When Josh finally comes to pick up Jennifer and the twins, the couple gets into an argument and that’s when the drama begins.

An innocent call from Jennifer’s mother leads to an all out screaming match, followed by Josh calling Jennifer several names and eventually kicking the teen mom out of his car. As she tries getting her twins, Josh takes off and leaves her stranded on the side of the road.

When he comes back a few minutes later and still refuses to let her have the babies, Jennifer calls her mother, then the police. While waiting for authorities to arrive, Josh is seen becoming physical towards Jennifer as she struggles and finally obtains her sleeping babies.

The police arrive and arrest Josh, but Jennifer decides not to press charges. At the end of the episode, the teen mom is dead set on ending her relationship with Josh and finally starts to realize what her parents have warned her of.

It was another sad ending for a teen mom who only wanted the fairy-tale life with her children and fiancé. What comes as even more of a shock is that Jennifer announced, on the 16 and Pregnant Aftershow, that she and Josh are back together, even though she admits she doesn’t know if he will lash out at her again.
