The 2008 satire action/comedy film Tropic Thunder received a great deal of praise upon its release for being, according to EW, "a spot-on skewering of Hollywood." One of the highlights of the Ben Stiller-directed and produced film was Les Grossman, a maniacal and vulgar Hollywood producer. Several people were shocked to discover that the character was played by Tom Cruise, since Grossman far differs from the heroic character he usually portrays. Well, Les Grossman is back and ready to produce this year's MTV Movie Awards.
MTV has recently released clips featuring the balding "Hollywood mogul," in which he interacts with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry today. In the first clip, audiences discover that Tom Cruise's infamous Risky Business pants-less dance scene was actually Grossman's idea. Cruise tried doing the scene with pants, but was interrupted by Les Grossman. "Cut! Did anyone else see this? Someone just took a dump in my eyes," proclaimed a furious Grossman. "This is a teen movie! And teens love ass!" Grossman rips Cruise's pants off, and the dance scene is then redone the way audiences know and love it.
Two other clips feature Twilight saga stars Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Pattinson goes to Grossman asking him if he can wash his hair for the awards ceremony, and Grossman flips out, saying that doing so would be "flushing his career down the toilet." His dirty hair, says Grossman, is the reason for his immense success. Pattinson then fearfully promises that if he washes his hair, it will only be with dirt.
In the Lautner clip, the young star goes to Les Grossman trying to get out of the award ceremony, because his friend's wedding is the same weekend. Grossman then comes up with the brilliant idea of having a look-alike take his place at the wedding. The look-alike, however, is a hefty drunken man with curly hair.
The 2010 MTV Movie Awards takes place on Sunday June 6 at 8pm central on MTV. Be sure to tune in, and in the meantime, be on the look-out for more Les Grossman clips!
