While it was confirmed Tuesday that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck had their third child, their first son, it was not immediately revealed what they planned on naming him. Affleck took to Facebook Wednesday to fix that, letting the world know that they have named him Samuel.
According to People, just hours ago, Affleck wrote a simple message on his Facebook page. “We are happy to announce on February 27, Jennifer gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Samuel Garner Affleck,” he wrote. The post has already received over 4,000 likes and over 600 comments since it was posted.
Access Hollywood reported that Garner announced that she was pregnant for the third time in August. Samuel will join sisters Violet, 6, and Seraphina, 3.
E! News confirmed that the power couple, who have been married since 2005, gave birth Tuesday afternoon.
Garner was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last month, but did not reveal the sex of the baby at the time. She also joked about having a list of baby names, saying that their daughters wanted to name the baby after a Disney character.
Garner has not starred in a film since the 2011 remake of Arthur with Russell Brand. She did star in Butter, which was filmed last year and is not set for a wide release until October. As for Affleck, he is currently finishing Argo, which he directed and will be released in September.
