Carrie Underwood has decided to leak a preview of her new single herself.
The country superstar shared a home video that was shot in a Nashville recording studio, where she was working on her fourth studio album.
The single Underwood allows fans to hear is called "Good Girl." A title for her album has yet to be announced, but it is almost completed, as it is in its final stages.
The Boot reports that Underwood co-wrote the single along with Chris DeStefano and Ashley Gorely, who collaborated with the country singer on her earlier tracks, "Don't Forget to Remember Me," and "All-American Girl."
WQYK quotes Underwood, “I am so excited to finally have new music. I was lucky enough to have an amazing tour from my last album, and it feels like it’s been forever, but I really had a blast writing the songs, making the music, taking my time, because I wanted it to be perfect, and I feel like we’re there. So, it’s very exciting for me to have new stuff to sing.”
"Good Girl" sounds like an up temp track, similar to her other hits, "Last Name," and "Cowboy Casanova."
The new single is scheduled to hit radio February 23.
Underwood was the winner of the fourth season of American Idol. She has since won 5 Grammy Awards and was the first female artist to ever win back-to-back Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards for Entertainer of the Year.
Her fourth studio album is set to be released on May 1.
