Demi Lovato had a huge comeback year in 2011, and it was documented by MTV.

The “Give Your Heart a Break” singer, 19, will appear in her own MTV documentary special Stay Strong, which airs March 6, at 10p.m.

Lovato hinted at the special early Tuesday with a photo of her “Stay” and “Strong” tattoos on her wrists.

"Lovatics-I wanted to tell you FIRST about a special I worked on with @MTV," she tweeted. "It premieres March 6th at 10pm!! #staystrong"

According to MTV News, the special follows Lovato through her public and personal recovery after staying in a treatment facility in late 2010.

In the special, Lovato will also open up about the struggles that brought her to go into treatment, as well as follow her as she goes back on tour, home to Texas, and revisits the facility where she sought treatment in 2010.

She says that with the special, she hopes it encourages others with similar issues to seek help in the same way she did.

"I wanted to share my story but I knew it had to be honest, it had to be real," Lovato said in a statement. "I have daily challenges but so do many kids who are struggling to feel comfortable in their own skin. If opening up and sharing my story inspires even one person to stay strong or to get the help they need, I've succeeded."

In a preview, she says, “everyone just, kind of, made me a role model, and I hated that.” She says her personal issues had made her go “insane.”

She adds, although she has overcome her problems, “I’m not fixed. This is a daily battle, but I continue to work my butt off.”
