Domestic violence experts send warnings to Rihanna

While the recent musical collaboration between exes Rihanna and Chris Brown may have shocked the public, domestic violence experts weren't as surprised.

Experts in the area are now sending warnings to RIhanna to be wary of Brown since it doesn't appear that he's changed in the three years since the assault.

“Statistics show generally that half of women leave and half go back a number of times before they make a final decision about the relationship," said Ellen Loy, director of clinical services at the House of Ruth in Maryland, the New York Daily News reported.

Executive director of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, RIta Smith, said she didn't believe the R&B singer-turned-Grammy-award-winning-rapper had reformed, referencing to his Twitter rants a few weeks ago.

"The response was fairly belligerent and didn't indicate he had changed much in the several years since the assault," she said, NME.com reported.

"However they're involved again, whether it's as intimate partners or as good friends or as professional associates, I hope that he continues to treat her with respect."

Reps for both RIhanna and Chris Brown insist they are just friends and deny any romantic involvement.

Brown, who has been in the news multiple times recently for several controversial remarks, made headlines last week for using a pick up link that referenced his assault.

"Can I get your phone number? I promise I won't beat you," Brown said to a woman on Feb. 10 at the Lasio Professional Hair Care suite Grammy gift lounge, according to Us Weekly.

"That is absurd and absolutely not true. I did not say that nor would I joke about that," Brown responded in a statement.
