After a lengthy absence, The Good Wife is back and ready to give us the answers we’ve been waiting for: What is going to happen to Will's job?
Wendy Scott Carr is on a mission to have Will disbarred, but she is not getting any help from Peter.
Company party- Carey calls Will to tell him that he is “safe” that there will be “no inditement.”
Will tells Diane that his adrenaline is pumping and is ready to take on a case now that he is not going to jail.
Viola Walsh, the woman who offered Alicia a job a few weeks back (played by Rita Wilson), is the opposing council. Lockheart & Gardner is suing to get the families of American protestors who were tortured in Syria who were killed $1 million each.
Kalinda is in touch with a man in Syria who has the invoice that may win the case for Lockheart & Gardner, he addresses her to send him an e-mail with three question marks the next time she wants to speak with him because it’s “safer.”
A man informs will that the bar is pursuing his disbarment. The disciplinary proceedings are to take place the next day. He states that he has been sworn to secrecy but felt Will should know. In a fit of rage Will throws the objects on the desk against the wall.
In court, a witness to the beatings, a man named Jimmy, shows a video of his sister being kicked while protesting. He said that he and his sister Sarah were taken into custody after hearing
Will admits to Dianne that he did take the $45,000 and returned it 15 years ago. Diane states that he has to fight it, even if he throws himself to the mercy of the courts.
Their main client, Patrick Eplistein is suggesting that they settle because of his business alignment with the opposing council. Will refutes that they represent the families who loved ones were killed and that he has no say in whether they will settle or not. Walking out, Alicia asks Will what is going to happen, Will, obviously distraught will what is going on with his case states, “Maybe he’ll leave. Who cares?”
The judge has a soft spot in his heart for Occupy Wall Street and its protestors. Viola asks Jimmy why he is suing because his sister is dead. Viola then shows a picture of his sister and claims that it was taken three days ago, and that she is alive. Will objects, Viola asks, “Why, we’ve just given your client good news.”
Will meets with the State Bar, they inform will what the charges are against him and what the end result could potentially be. They also state, however, that it is noted that Will’s firm has stuck with the department of pro-bono work in a time where law firms are getting rid of pro-bono work as the economy has sunk. Because of this, they are offering Will 6 month’s suspension where he cannot practice law, take clients or enter a court room except as a private citizen. Will asks, “And if I decline?” They inform that they will then move forward in disbarring him. Diane tells Will to fight it, “Six months suspension will kill you” she sates.
The families of the suit are urging Jimmy to stay on the case and think of the “other Sarah’s who are out there.” Kalinda researches and finds a lesbian activist who looks just like Jimmy’s sister.
Kalinda video calls the lesbian blogger who looks like Sarah. A 30-year old bearded man from Kansas answers. After Kalinda tells him that she works for a law firm, he offers Kalinda insight as to how he started the page, which will help the case.
Will tells Alicia about his potential disbarment. He tells her that he is going to take the six month suspension, and that he deserves to be punished for his actions. Alicia states, “You’re giving up law for six months, I can’t imagine.”
Will tells Diane of his decision. She states that they will have to change the name of the firm to Lockeart & Associates. She tells him that there will be a place for him when he returns.
While Kalinda is speaking to her source in Syria, he finds Sarah and says that she is being held in a school, that he needs $50,000. She and Will agree to wire the money, but when her source tries to tell her where to wire the money to, a connection error occurs.
Because the main case against the opposing council is that they are willing selling spy material to Syrian government in order to trap and kill Americans, the fact that this product is on Kalinda’s source’s computer, it appears the connection failure wasn’t accidental, but intentional so that the firm won’t be able to save Sarah.
Lockheart & Gardner call a tech from the company to testify, and his information puts the nail in the coffin. Before he can finish his testimony, the opposing council stops him so they can make a deal.
Sarah is found, and the other families are awarded their money.
On another note, Vanessa states that she misses arguing with Eli and finally convinces him to help her with her campaign.
Will cleans out his desk, the realization of his suspension is clearly sinking in as he walks through the halls of Lockheart & Gardner one last time.
Diane has agreed to reassign his cases. One of the cases is Kalinda's. There is some understated tax problem that Diane asks Alicia to keep "under the radar."
How do you think they will incorporate Will into the storyline now that he is legally unable to practice law?
