The actress will host 'SNL' for the first time since 2006.

If you can’t beat them, join them. Lindsay Lohan is joining them all right. She signed up to host the March 3 episode of Saturday Night Live. Since Lohan can’t stop the media from using her mistakes for comedy, the actress might as well join in on the fun. Right?

I’m not sure if this job will end up in her vault of bad career choices or launch her back into a more positive light, but at least the Mean Girls star is getting back to work.

After suffering from a highly publicized and lengthy trial, Lohan’s career is on the verge of demise. In an effort to restore her job as an actress, Lohan reportedly reached out to the one show that she has upheld a decent rapport with, SNL. Fortunately, the NBC comedy’s executive producer, Lorne Michaels, welcomed the actress with open arms.

Once the comedy sketch show aired the promo for this March 3 episode, Lohan tweeted her excitement, “SNL! I love @NBC !!!!!!!!!!!!!”

She then replaced her Twitter profile picture with the show’s advertisement.

SNL's page also composed a tweet to confirm the unexpected news.

“That's right: March 3rd, @lindsaylohan with musical guest Jack White!! See you then! #SNL #March3rd,” the show wrote.

It’s been several years since Lohan’s last comedic performance on SNL but she is certainly no stranger to the show. After her first hosting gig in the mid-2000s, she was invited back twice.

Since Lohan has recently been in the courtroom more than on set and practicing her testimony instead of a script, it should be interesting to see how she performs this time around.
