Selena Gomez recently got a tattoo.
The 19-year-old “Who Says” singer got her new ink at Hollywood’s Under the Gun tattoo shop.
Tattoo artist Jordan Sandoval said Selena took it “like a champ.”
"She was excited,” Sandoval wrote via his Twitter. “She wasn’t nervous. She is way cute."
But while many were reporting that the new tattoo, which is located on her right wrist, was a heart, Selena says it wasn’t a heart but a music note.
"It's a music note," Gomez told E! Online’s Marc Malkin at the Women in Film cocktail party in West Hollywood. "Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note."
The former Disney star, who is currently taking a break from performing with her band The Scene to focus on acting, says she got the tattoo to represent her undying love of music.
"I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me," Gomez explained. "And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."
According to Fox News, prior to getting the music note, Selena had showed off three temporary tattoos in the past. She previously had a cross, a henna tattoo of “Sel” on her shoulder, and a “Justin" tattoo with a heart that was located on her wrist. That tattoo was only part of a concert.
