Star Jones finally returned to The View after leaving on not-so-amicable terms in 2006.

During her appearance, she talked with co-hosts Barbara Walters, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd.

When Jones announced she was leaving the show, it was the first time both the audience – and her co-hosts – were hearing about it. The announcement left her co-hosts stunned, which caused the media to pin her against the other ladies.

"It was ugly. Everything. It was a bad emotional time. Nasty things were being said in the media," said Jones, People reports.

Later admitting she had been fired, Jones said "I wanted to go out on my own terms so that if I walked back here I'd feel good about it.”

But she did admit, "I had eight fantastic years here. One was 'eh.' I came back to congratulate you on all you accomplished. I hope you congratulate me on what I accomplished."

E! Online reports that the ladies discussed Jones’ gastric bypass surgery in 2003, which she had asked everyone keep quiet about.

"Because we loved you, we did lie for you," Walters said, with Behar saying “We tried to protect you. We were told, 'Don't say it was gastric [bypass]. Say it was pilates and portion control.'”

Everything ended well, with the ladies raising awareness about women’s heart health, and Behar congratulating Jones on being a “skinny bitch.”
