On Feb. 26, ABC will be presenting The 84th Annual Academy Awards, one of the most prestigious and anticipated awards shows of the season which will be televised worldwide in more than 225 countries.
Billy Crystal will be returning as host this year, marking this his ninth year as host of the extraordinary event in which we celebrate Hollywood’s most notable film achievements.
Given the opportunty to present this year are Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz.
In addition, the cast of Bridesmaids and A-listers from The Muppets, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, are on the list as well, according to Ace Showbiz.
Nominees include The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, and War Horse for Best Picture.
Demián Bichir, George Clooney, Jean Dujardin, Gary Oldman and Brad Pitt are nominated for best Actor in a Leading Role whereas, Glenn Close, Viola Davis, Rooney Mara, Meryl Streep and Michelle Williams are up against eachother for best Actress in a Leading Role.
Good Morning America will begin the festivities by highlighting Hollywood’s biggest movie stars and Jimmy Kimmel will be ending the night with Oscar’s coverage on Jimmy Kimmel Live “After the Academy Awards,” according to the Oscar’s official website.
Throughout the day, a variety of networks will be broadcasting live from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
The 84th Academy Awards are set to air at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ABC.
