Seraphina and Violet aren’t necessarily normal names for girls, so it seems Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck wanted to go a more traditional route when it came to their newborn son’s name.
E! Online reported the couple has named their first son Samuel Garner Affleck.
"We are happy to announce that on February 27, Jennifer gave birth to a healthy baby boy, Samuel Garner Affleck," Affleck wrote on his Facebook page Wednesday morning, one day after his son’s birth.
Samuel is the first child in the family to have his mother’s maiden name incorporated into his name.
Garner and Affleck have two daughters in addition to their son, 6-year-old Violet and 3-year-old Seraphina.
According to Us Weekly, if Violet and Seraphina had their way with their sibling’s moniker, he would be named after a character straight out of Disneyland.
"[They suggested] Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse Affleck…and then they moved on...[to] Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Smee," Garner told Tonight Show host Jay Leno before giving birth and knowing the gender of her future child.
Garner announced her pregnancy back in August 2011. I wonder if Violet and Seraphina are going to be bossy sissies to their new brother?
