Bobby Brown released from prison after DUI on $5,000 bail

By Gina DiFalco,

Bobby Brown has been arrested for suspicion of DUI in Los Angeles, but he has since been released.

Brown failed a sobriety test around 12p.m. on Monday after being pulled over for talking on his cell phone, and he was subsequently arrested, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Harris, CBS News reports.

KCBS reports Brown, 43, was released from jail at 2p.m. on Monday. The ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston has been arrested before.

While on probation for DUI arrest in 1996, Brown tested positive for cocaine, which led to another arrest. During his 14-year marriage to the “I Will Always Love You” singer, she was arrested for possession of marijuana.

According to Contact Music, Brown was released from Van Nuys prison after posting $5,000 bail.

TMZ reports that Brown had a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher when he was pulled over.

The New Edition singer has one child with the late Houston, Bobbi Kristina Brown. It was rumored that the Houston family wouldn’t allow Brown to attend the funeral of Houston in Newark, New Jersey, but he was present. He did, however, leave early due to an alleged argument with his ex’s family.
