In January, Carnie Wilson underwent lap-band surgery and as a result, she lost 30 pounds.
“It was the right decision for me and I'm doing really well so far," Wilson told People at the time. "It's all about taking good care of myself."
Wilson had the second surgery (the first was 12 years ago when she famously lost 150 pounds after gastric bypass surgery) because she was frustrated with the baby weight she had put on after having daughters Lola, 6, and Luciana, 2.
MSNBC reports that Dr. Robin Blackstone, president of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery, describes the second surgery by saying “In effect, she’s added something to her first surgery.”
She did also admit, “It’s actually pretty rare,” to have two or more weight loss surgeries.
Before getting another surgery, however, Wilson appeared on Celebrity Fit Club in 2006 in an attempt to get some of the weight off, USA Today reports.
The surgery will be documented on Wilson’s new reality show with friend Chynna Phillips and sister Wendy Wilson on TV Guide Network called Wilson Phillips: Still Holding On.
The premiere episode is called “The Weight is Over,” and shows Wilson making the decision to get the surgery.
