Dionne Warwick opened up in an interview to address what she feels killed her superstar cousin, Whitney Houston.
Houston was found lifeless in the Beverly Hills Hotel bathtub on the eve of the Grammys. Although toxicology reports have not revealed what killed the “I Will Always Love You” songstress, Warwick believes that her heart simply gave out.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Warwick tells ET, “You know, in all honesty, I think she had a heart attack, that's what I think happened to her. I don't know if it's that or not. I think her heart just gave out."
Warwick accompanied Houston’s body from Los Angeles to New Jersey. She remembers that the ride “was a combination of things, stories, laughter, tears. All the emotions that you feel when somebody very near to you passes."
Houston’s struggles were made very public throughout her lifetime so friends and fans speculate that drugs were the culprit of her death. Houston’s records have since been obtained, and every pharmacist has been thoroughly interviewed to determine if the singer/actress was in fact abusing prescription medication.
Warwick is the second person of Houston’s family to break the silence. Earlier in the week, her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, came forward to express her feelings and thoughts of her legendary mother.
Reports state that the toxicology reports should be back as soon as March 23.
